our story

Airline Captain For A Day was launched in February of 2009. Our intention is to bring a new prosective of commercial aviation to the general public in a fun and exciting way.

If you've ever dreamed of what it would be like to take the controls of a real jet airliner, now's your chance. Flying home computer simulators like Microsoft Flight Simulator X are fun but nothing beats the look and feel of a real Full Motion Flight Simulator. Our sims are the real thing. The exact sims that real pilots train in.

We're located in the Pan Am Training Center, Just 20 minutes from most Las Vegas strip hotels. Need transportation from your hotel? No problem! We Have FREE Limousine Service to pick you and your party from your hotel and bring you back after your experience is over.

Our sims can accomodate up to four rider plus your instructor per session or one rider can bring up to three observers at no additional cost

Meet Capt. Rod MacLennan - Rod Maclennan first soloed in 1960. Since then he has logged over 20,000 hours of flight time.

Rod started his career in commercial aviation as a flight instructor in 1965, working for Capitol Skypark, a Piper dealership & flight school in Sacramento, California.

From there Rod spent the next twenty two working for Eastern Airlines. First as a passenger and cargo operator. Then as flight engineer on l-1049 Constellation. Ending his career at Eastern as Manager of Flying, Simulator Instructor and Captain of DC-9s and B-727s in 1989

Rod went on to work for various air carriers as Maneger, Instructor and pilot, retiring from Polar Air Cargo as captain of B-747s in 2004.

Since retiring Rod has worked as an instructor, logging nearly 1700 hours in simulator. In February of 2009 Rod started Airline Captain For A Day

Meet Paul Rodriguez - Paul Rodriguez is our head of Sales and marketing.

Paul's love of aviation goes back to when he was a kid listening to stories from his dad who was a naval aviator and his uncle who was a B-25 waist gunner durring World War II. "I remember going to airshows with them, learning about all the old WW2 airplanes".

Paul joined Airline Captain For A Day in late 2009. He also handles all of our graphic and web deign.

Meet Aki - With over 2,500 hours of flight time, Aki serves as our CMO (Chief Morale Officer). As head of morale, Aki's job is to bring a smile to everyone's face. Something she does quite well!
